Artist Bio
South London’s Mariedominique makes music that is rich, poetic, immersive, and fully charged with emotional gravity. Fusing folk, soul, and ambient textures with a singular, soulful voice, he delivers songs that resonate with the quiet force of a storm about to stir.
Previously known as Sam Dotia, he first gained attention with striking early performances at St Pancras Church and Montreux Jazz Festival’s Jazz in Motion, earning support from Annie Mac, Mary Anne Hobbs, and Gilles Peterson.
In 2025, he re-emerged as Mariedominique, unveiling “Hollow Love” and “Fire & Ice”—songs that conjure cinematic inner worlds, marrying lyrical intimacy with atmospheric restraint. A subtle shift in sound marks a new chapter: emotionally precise, richly textured, and always carrying the unmistakable sound of truth.
Unique, bold, and profoundly soulful, Mariedominique is undoubtedly one of the most singular and exciting voices in the UK’s talent-rich alternative singer-songwriter landscape.
